Autos stay as autos and clubs should not mix the classes as per the rule book, giving these young riders time to feel there feet.
Cadet Class, this class would benefit from the class being extended by one year as it does not have the same age range as the other classes, this class is always mixed in with the Auto's and a lap dropped by some adult clubs. the kids in this class are in the norm riding Grasstrack Style bikes and have paid the same money pro rata as an adults. This which would mean more riders in the class making it better for rider and spectator. Increase the 4 stroke engine to a 125cc as all other classes are 2 times cc difference between 2 strokes and 4 strokes. No more brakes
Juniors - either keep age range the same or move it up inline with the potential Cadet age range change, No More Brakes
Inters - Increase the age range in line with the other 2 classes alreadu mentioned and add on a year, Keeping more lads in youth racing and making the class better in racing numbers to watch and ride against each other, We have been to some meetings where no inters have entered. no brakes
Senior A/B - Personally i feel this class is only supported at a few meetings making it a total waste of time, as many riders move up to the adult classes, Drop the class, introduce an under 18 class for National meetings only, do the same as moto cross, once you move up to adult you cannot come back.
International 125 - great class to watch, and one we should be supporting to if the British lads want to compete with the International riders, introduce it at all Youth meetings and club meetings. My lad cannot wait to have a go in this class having seen you Zach and Callum have ago this year.
High vis vests to be worn by novice riders.
In the motocross classes as I have mentioned above the riders are kept apart by better age ranges, we should do this as it is quite often mentioned that grasstrack mirror some of what motocross do, and they always have a full field of riders at all there meetings and sometimes need to turn kids away as they have not booked in before the cut off.
Youth Nationals
Youth National meetings, I have spoken to a few clubs and people that would run a round on a Saturday to support there Sunday meeting. Could the ACU look at a 3 round system. Motocross classes are a northern thing (no offence made) why don’t they run there own championship.
Protests at a national meetings, these are long winded and drawn out and if an offence has been made then it should be dealt with in that race and up held. However why do we not have the referee’s word is final like speedway and move on.
ACU Youth Pairs, this has not been run for the last 2 seasons and again I have spoken to a potential club that might run this, so why don’t we follow it up.
Trophies – We have done 3 Youth Nationals, Trophies at 2 have been to last place and of good quality, many people were not happy with the outcome this year on this subject, Why don't the ACU help financa this as £35 to ride surely better silverware out of that money could have been arrange.
Track Sizes, the Danebury club put on a well run meeting, however due to ACU rules the straights were to long compared to the corners which did cause the accidents on the day, why don’t the kids ride average club size tracks as the racing is far better and safer as this is what they ride on most weeks.
Everybody has there view, but at the end of the day, if we do not express them, then nothing will be done and what i have written doesn't mean to say it is going to happen so try not to take it the wrong way.
