We see and hear so much about our multicultural England. Mosques are appearing on our skylines across the country. But those Christian roots still remain firmly embedded in village life, and so they should.
And today there is a greater need for all our Christian churches to come closer together.
So it was good to see the announcement of the Walk of Witness that will take place in two weeks time on the 21st March this year. What a wonderful opportunity to show solidarity with the other churches and a witness to the world.
I have always found street walking very inspiring - an act of witness, freedom and democracy.
What else is available for us to refresh our souls?
The Parish Mission at St Bedes
The Bethany Hour at the Methodist
A 10 week course on Christianity Explored which has already commenced at the Baptist church
And of course all the celebrations of Easter.
And later this year in June Free Musical Event - Part of Hope on the 21st on Lakehouse Field, with local choirs and instrumentalists, and Christian rock groups from Manchester
Plenty going on in this village!
