Hey Marylanders ... the state of Md is encouraging people to plant native trees by providing a $25 coupon off the price of a tree worth at least $50. Details can be found here:

There is a list of eligible trees and participating nurseries on the website and a printable coupon. Pretty neat stuff. I didn't see any palms on there ... but plenty of other species that could enhance your yard and still fit in a tropical scheme.
