M, that's excellent advice and detail from Dave ... I wanted to update you on the cutting I took a month or more ago. I just popped it in water and waited. It took a lot longer to root than the cutting I took this spring, probably because the plant is slowing down this time of year versus ramping up for hyperactive summer growth.
Just wanted you to know to be patient with the cuttings this time of year!
I remember seeing some excellent photos somewhere on the web about rooting cuttings of brugs. You could probably google it and find them. I think when the plant is actively growing, (or if you live in Florida, ha ha) you could probably just throw a stick on the ground and it would root! The photos were amazing. It was like Dave said - they had a "log" which would be the "trunk" of a taller brug, and laid it down on the ground, and it would root and send up shoots from every node.
