From my school days I have had an interest in the miraculous events that appear to play a role in the curiosity that invites many of us to study the lives of those who have been blessed with a sudden, and total recovery from a major illness.
Here's an interesting story from Lourdes that I believe should be shared here. Worth reading.
'I am here to bear witness': French nun, 79, tells how she was 'cured by miracle at Lourdes' and can now walk without morphine and her leg brace after 40 years in agony

Perplexing

Sister Moriau is certainly an example of humility, faithfulness and gratitude.
But these and other miracles, especially those attributed to places like Lourdes, are perplexing.
If we assume that God intervened in the life of Sister Moriau to cure her of many decades of suffering, why did God wait so long?
We can only attempt to grasp the breadth and depth of God's love by our experience of human love and what loving parent would not intervene as soon as they could to alleviate the suffering of a child?
As the article implies, there are things that happen in the world that 'can not be explained scientifically' (and maybe never will be), but when we ascribe them to an 'interventionist' God, especially our God, it begs questions; very human questions.

Well, Faz, this is the twenty thousand dollar question that we all ask. I'll not speculate.
Sister Moriau is clearly delighted that her patience has led to her recovery.
