“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.”
Way, way back in my school days the end of term examinations included a 100 question, general knowledge test to be answered in one hour. Accumulating knowledge may impress the examiner, but without understanding it serves no useful purpose to acquire knowledge merely to impress the easily impressed.
Understanding that which is entering our deepest thoughts encourages us to do all that we are being inspired to do, when Divine Wisdom influences us to follow His counselling on any given matter serving God's plan for our life.
Predictably I am often asked how will we know that it is The Father's guidance leading us to do that which He is asking us?
When we are asked to sacrifice something of great value, not just a copper coin to assist those who enter our orbit by perceived chance. Coincidence has a recurring intervention, its source directing us to do all that it begs us to do. Chance, or coincidence speaks much more of an influence on how we live our life, when we discern that, that coincidence has influenced us to believe there is much more to that fateful meeting than a mere accident might suggest.
Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. ~ Proverbs 3:6
That persistent theme flowing through our innermost thoughts will never cease, until we take the necessary action being asked of us.
Such patterns oblige us to take notice, sufficient for us to test our innermost counselling, doing all that is being requested.
With time, and experience our willingness to trust the wisdom flowing into our thoughts begins our journey travelling in the care of The Father's Spirit. It is my ongoing experience that which comes to pass, has been promised to me in advance, inviting me to carry out the directions enabling the result.

Or if one loves righteousness,
whose works are virtues,
She teaches moderation and prudence,
righteousness and fortitude,
and nothing in life is more useful than these.
8
Or again, if one yearns for wide experience,
she knows the things of old, and infers the things to come.
She understands the turns of phrases and the solutions of riddles;
signs and wonders she knows in advance
and the outcome of times and ages
