“Two things define you: your patience when you have nothing and your attitude when you have everything.” — George Bernard Shaw
We learn through the media that success leading to celebrity status, and oodles of money can be, and often is self destructive the result of the ego taking control.
Our patience also demonstrates our choice to live our life with an eye on healthy living, avoiding gluttonous excess and habits that destroy our well being. Abstaining from self destructive habits can suggest poverty to the casual observer, or a growing awareness for the wise person that self control, discipline if you wish is God's gift to all who follow His counselling to do all that He asks of us.
God is patient with us.
God's Spirit develops the fruit of patience in us.
When we are patient, we leave room for God to work His plan in our hearts and in our relationships.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
~ John 14:27
