The wedding feast at Cana references the dialogue between Jesus, and Mary clearly evidencing the maternal influence of Mary over her son Jesus. The wedding banquet was a formal occasion with Mary giving clear instructions to the serving team do all that her son asked:
His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”

That Mary was also present at the crucifixion of Jesus might well evidence that she was the mother of Jesus.
In John 19:26–27 we read, “When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to her, ‘Woman, here is your son,’ and to the disciple, ‘Here is your mother.’ From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.” The clear understanding of the passage is that Jesus commanded John to care for Mary after His death. A loving son would as one of His last acts make provision for His mother.
