Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.
In the Catholic tradition we reference Biblical wisdom to illustrate The Father's intervention in our life's story of self discovery:
“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.” ~ Galatians 6:7
Divine Providence has His way of delivering into our life all that we invest in our passage through our time.
He that takes truth for his guide, and duty for his end, may safely trust to God's providence to lead him alright. ~ Blaise Pascal
Our Father will intervene in our thoughts providing us with the answers to our needs, and the remedy to the difficulty currently stressing us into deep depression. The Divine Presence alive in our life merely invites us to do all that He asks of us. That wise counselling will lead us out of trouble alerting us with deep concern for our safety and well being. God reaches out to us when we are at our lowest, asking us to embrace, and act on His advice leading us into safety.
The Prophet Joseph's journey teaches us that the victim of his brother's abuse, selling Joseph into slavery was rewarded with forgiveness, and generosity by Joseph who had remained faithful to Our Father's counselling becoming The Egyptian Pharaoh's chief minister.
Joseph's forgiveness of his brothers inhumane treatment, enabled his brothers to learn that reciprocation per The Father's counselling rejects revenge, in favour of setting an example that they could emulate.
“Your Father is graciously issuing you an invitation to rise to know him and to be known by him.” ~ C. S. Lewis
