~ Umberto Eco, The Name of the Rose
My earlier posts on sowing and reaping, the so called karma factor, might well engage us to ask why we are on the receiving end of a hard luck story for which we are not responsible. Karma is not an inviolate engine of cosmic punishment, rather a sequence of events calling us to enter into our interior life, asking for assistance towards creating a remedy for that which suddenly appeared in our orbit....without a reason that we can detect.
Umberto Eco correctly invites his readers not to jump to conclusions, that we are responsible for every bad luck event that enters our life's journey of self discovery. The wisest, of the wise will direct us to seek a solution for the dilemma causing us so much angst and anger rather than spend time worrying over...why did I deserve this.
Look within and cooperate with The Spirit of God guiding us out of our difficulties, into peaceful waters.
My son, if you receive my words,
And treasure my commands within you,
So that you incline your ear to wisdom,
And apply your heart to understanding;
Yes, if you cry out for discernment,
And lift up your voice for understanding,
If you seek her as silver,
And search for her as for hidden treasures;
Then you will understand the fear of the LORD,
And find the knowledge of God.
