And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,”
and he was called God’s friend.
The Father created us in His image inviting us into a personal relationship with Him.
Our Father desires an intimate heart to heart relationship with us.
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shade of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”
~Psalm 91:1-2
The Father's invitation to join Him in a loving friendship is mediated by His Spirit living in our life guiding us to live our life in accordance with The Father's plan specifically designed for each, and every human person.
27 But the anointing that you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you.
But as His anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie—just as it has taught you, abide in Him. ~1 John 2
I am daily asked how does this transformation process begin?
This journey in a developing friendship with Our Father takes us our life time.
The beginning will be a knock on our door by whatever means Our Father chooses to wake us up out of our sleep.
For me the ideal example of the beginning of a relationship with God is that of Saul of Tarsus, travelling to Damascus to detain Nazarenes, being confronted by the Risen Christ asking Saul: “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?”
Saul was tutored in the Mosaic Laws by Israel's greatest teacher Gamaliel inspiring Saul to compete for the leadership of The Sanhedrin.
Saul had a brilliant intellect, a PhD scholar by today standards. Following his encounter with the Risen Christ, the Apostle Paul recognised that his academic brilliance and knowledge of the Mosaic Laws was rendered redundant after his transformation experience, beginning his new life in the care of The Saviour.
Our Father invites us into His presence where there is fullness of joy.
You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. ~ Psalms 16:11
19 How abundant are the good things
that you have stored up for those who fear you,
that you bestow in the sight of all,
on those who take refuge in you.
20 In the shelter of your presence you hide them
from all human intrigues;
you keep them safe in your dwelling
from accusing tongues. ~ Psalms 31:19-20
