35 Then the two from Emmaus told their story of how Jesus had appeared to them as they were walking along the road,
and how they had recognized him as he was breaking the bread.
The Emmaus revelations inform us not only who we are becoming; also how Jesus opens our eyes to see Him for who He is.
Our life's journey of self discovery will at some point open our eyes, our understandings to the presence of The One leading us through our life's story until its completion.
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door,
I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me
~ Apocalypse 3:20
The experience of many people indicates that an overwhelming crisis beyond our capacity to resolve, encourages us to listen with patience to the counselling emerging from our innermost thoughts, inviting us to follow His advice towards resolving our plight. From that critical episode our faith in The Divine Presence begins to shape everything that we do relying on Him more, and more to guide us out of harm's way into a rewarding life.
At some point our greatest friend will ask us to reciprocate in kind, inviting us to become His outreach into the lives of those He sends to us, that they also may benefit from His assistance during their moments of greatest need.
Divine Providence delivers to us all that we will ever need, when responding with enthusiasm to all that Our Father asks of us, when with joy we serve at Our Father's Banqueting Table.
“Relying on God has to begin all over again every day as if nothing had yet been done.”
~ C.S. Lewis
