“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in by another way, that man is a thief and a robber. But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the gatekeeper opens. The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. A stranger they will not follow, but they will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.” ...
In those quieter moments when we rest at the end of our day, perhaps mulling over the events that our day presented to us, there is an awareness that our inner voice is interrupting our thoughts with a willingness to interpret all that we have experienced walking through our day's activities. That review of our passing hours appears out of the blue, so to speak with a desire to instruct us on the lessons that we need to learn from our day's encounters. Our reflections may well provide us with sufficient reason to believe that our greatest friend wants us to share in His appreciation of all that our day has granted to us, and in so doing understand that we are being led through our life day, by day towards realising The Father's plan for our life's well being.
Even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him.
You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you ~ John 14:17
From my long experience I have learned that relaxing at the end of my day encourages me to be a patient listener, responding with my own words when my interior friend invites me to participate in a conversation guaranteed to teach me the error of my ways, and how best to proceed removing the barrier that had blocked my path into tomorrow.
Cooperating with the divine presence opens doors enabling us to do more than be an observer of our life's passage, encouraging us to engage with The Good Shepherd inviting us to lead us through the highs, and lows of our life with His wisdom lighting our way ahead.
