I quote:
Brothers and sisters:
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith,
we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
through whom we have gained access by faith
to this grace in which we stand,
end quote
The spiritual dimension provides us with the opportunity to embrace faith in Our Father's call, to follow His Spirit through our life's journey until its completion. His interventions will be crystal clear, with no misunderstanding what is expected from us. Free will ensures that our choice to respond with a firm yes, or no will deliver to us all that our decision provides. As we sow, so shall we reap is the awareness that each of us becomes responsible for our actions. Our Buddhist brethren recognise this reality when referencing the Karma factor:
future consequences are inevitably shaped by our present actions.
But when he comes, the Spirit of truth,
he will guide you to all truth.
Changing our direction provides us with the awareness that even those of us who are late arriving for work in Our Father's vineyard can benefit, when relying upon The Holy Spirit's guidance in all matters. Our Father is faithful to all His children who trust Him to support them when help is needed most. Our Father won't allow us to be tested, and tempted beyond our ability to cope, and overcome self serving choices dangling in front of us as if to say, take a bite out of this apple.
“Every time you make a choice you are turning the central part of you, the part of you that chooses, into something a little different than it was before. And taking your life as a whole, with all your innumerable choices, all your life long you are slowly turning this central thing into a heavenly creature or a hellish creature: either into a creature that is in harmony with God, and with other creatures, and with itself, or else into one that is in a state of war and hatred with God, and with its fellow creatures, and with itself. To be the one kind of creature is heaven: that is, it is joy and peace and knowledge and power. To be the other means madness, horror, idiocy, rage, impotence, and eternal loneliness. Each of us at each moment is progressing to the one state of the other.”
