I quote:
Jesus said:
My sheep hear my voice;
I know them, and they follow me.
I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish
end quote
I confidently repeat week, after week the absolute necessity to listen to the voice of Our Saviour guiding us through our life's journey day, after day revealing His presence alive within our life. Equally important is our need to do all that is asked of us. Our trust in Our Father's counselling is often tested when He invites us to do much more than offer up words of good intent. The Father challenges us to act upon our beliefs, when carrying all that He asks of us.
“Actions speak louder than words; let your words teach and your actions speak.”– Anthony of Padua
The Book of The Apocalypse (Revelation) is predictably viewed as a poetic salute to the dreams, visions, and imagination of the person living a deeply spiritual life. The Apostle John was in his mid teens when he answered the call of Jesus to follow Him. According to tradition John would live into his nineties spending years living on the Greek island of Patmos, exiled by the Roman emperor for daring to speak publicly of his beliefs in God.
The Apostle John attempts to convey to his reading audiences the result of remaining faithful to Our Father, especially when that trust is being tested under great stress.
These words speak with poetic majesty of Our Father's loving support for all His children:
I, John, had a vision of a great multitude,
which no one could count,
from every nation, race, people, and tongue.
They stood before the throne and before the Lamb,
wearing white robes and holding palm branches in their hands.
Then one of the elders said to me,
“These are the ones who have survived the time of great distress;
they have washed their robes
and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
“For this reason they stand before God’s throne
and worship him day and night in his temple.
The one who sits on the throne will shelter them.
They will not hunger or thirst anymore,
nor will the sun or any heat strike them.
For the Lamb who is in the center of the throne
will shepherd them
and lead them to springs of life-giving water,
and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
