I quote:
Brothers and sisters:
There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same Spirit; there are different forms of service but the same Lord;

A seminarian visiting us for a few days from Spain spoke to me of the "dryness" of his spiritual life, asking me whether this was a sign that he is not destined for the priesthood.
I replied that very many seminarians discern that their life will not be lived as an ordained priest.
A perception of spiritual "dryness" may well be more a matter of a failure to notice, or listen to the signals that are being received.
In due course a sign will appear guiding each of us in a particular direction, if only for a limited time.
With the passage of time the road of hard knocks presents each of us with lessons leading us to where The Father wants us to go.
When we are on the right path we feel comfortable.
When we reject the advice flowing from within our conscious awareness our life can become difficult.
At 31 years of age Jaime is a mature seminarian with an awareness that his earlier life as a gifted chef might well be the true path, that he needs to rekindle to discover the purpose that The Father provides for his well being. I advised Jaime to spend time contemplating, enabling him to weigh up the guidance surfacing from within his life, that presently he feels unwilling to embrace.
Nothing happens without Our Father ordaining it.
This is key to understanding God's purpose for our life, and our well being when led by Him through the ebbs, and flows of our life's journey.
Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.~ Proverbs 19:21
