Paul Gives Thanks
3 Praise God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! The Father is a merciful God, who always gives us comfort. 4 He comforts us when we are in trouble, so that we can share that same comfort with others in trouble. 5 We share in the terrible sufferings of Christ, but also in the wonderful comfort he gives.
None of us will be denied the benefits attached to walking through a storm under Our Father's protection when we remain faithful to His every word to follow His directions, no matter how difficult the road ahead may appear. Not a few of us will surrender to our fears, and turn around retreating to safer ground. The comfort zone can be enticing when we are invited to share our meagre resources, to support another who needs our practical assistance. Our Father's request to help those He introduces to us, is His reminder that His many gifts granted to us, should be shared to serve those He invites to dine at His banqueting table where we are seated.
To weather every storm of life we should acknowledge that the tempest will pass, and in due time calm will be restored. Storms are lessons providing us with the opportunity to grow wiser, the result of having followed the advice emerging from within our conscious awareness.
Our growth into wiser, more proficient explorers of our journey of self discovery leads us to trust Our Father's guidance day, by day when learning that His wisdom protects us from our self destructive choices. The wisest, of the wise learn through years of life enhancing experience that the wisdom flowing from within our person is supplied to safeguard us from our life's tempestuous seasons.
When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.
