Today's readings invite us to remain alert, attentive to those sign posts, that appear in our life as synchronistic incidents, guiding us to where we should be going per Our Father's plan for our life. Metaphor provides us with the awareness that the road provided by the divine mystery opens up to our understandings each, and every day we rise to greet our day discovering all that is in store for us.
Our local village barber spent most of his five minutes cutting my hair this morning, complaining that the anti-Covid measures were driving him, and his customers into a state of deep depression. I reminded him that his grandparents had faced some four years of enemy occupation, and malnutrition leading to the premature deaths of some 250,000 Greeks betweeen 1941/1944. Stelios ceased babbling, with silence his reply to my advice that a little patience goes along way, assisting us cope until that day when the pandemic passes into the history books.
Your ways, O LORD, make known to me;
teach me your paths,
Guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my savior,
and for you I wait all the day.
