I shall add a few thoughts introducing the reader to the earlier post.
In my experience each of us should resolve whatever trials life grants us, growing us into wiser explorers of our life's story. Each of us has our own story to write, notwithstanding that the author of our life's journey already knows the decisions that we will make revealing His influence on our choices.
Fate has its hand to play whenever we contemplate a variety of choices laid before us as if to say, make your play.
Coincidence is God's way of remaining anonymous ~ Albert Einstein
How often has fate played its hand under the guise of coincidence, intervening by perceived chance to guide us where we should be going.
Fate leads him who follows it, and drags him who resist. ~ Plutarch
Predestination assumes that we have no choice, whereas Our Father invites us to let Him shepherd us through our life's journey offering us choices, leading us to where He wants us to go. In other words those choices provided by The Father fulfiling His plan for our life, are ours to make.
“Accept the things to which fate binds you, and love the people with whom fate brings you together, but do so with all your heart.”
~ Marcus Aurelius, Meditations
The earlier post:
Unraveling the solution to a mystery story of a puzzle seems to produce a kind of 'mental catharsis,' since people typically feel a sense of relief from suspense when they find the answer to the mystery or puzzle. ~ Monsignor Ronald Knox
The answer to any puzzle confronting us may appear at first to be the solution, only to understand that the solution is merely the beginning of our process of understanding that may take years for us to grasp its wise lessons teaching us how best to navigate our life's ebbs and flows.
During my student days in London travelling the tube to college I spent my time watching the morning commuter filling in the crossword puzzles in their daily newspapers. In conversation with an elderly gent I learnt that every morning he completed The Times crossword puzzle with ease, the result of entering into the mind of the crossword puzzle's author. This process that had taken my travelling companion years to discern, by remaining committed to his belief that the crossword puzzle author had personally invited him to participate in the process of working together solving the puzzles confronting him everyday.
My Christmas morning gift of a jig saw puzzle waiting for me to unbox arrived with the benefit of a picture of the finished puzzle, enabling me to complete the puzzle with the patience of one knowing the end result. No worries, no mystery, no mistakes. A predictable, boring exercise in patience building.
My London tube travelling companion (an insurance broker) had assisted me understand that the puzzling adversities of life confronting every human person can be resolved when exercising patience, and entering into the mind of the author of our life inviting each of us to allow Him the joy of working with us, to decipher the puzzling dilemmas that life presents to us to celebrate all that our life offers us.
But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
~ James 1:5
