5 And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons?
“My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor be weary when reproved by him.
6 For the Lord disciplines the one he loves,
and chastises every son whom he receives.”
Spiritual discipline does not come easily to the aspiring disciple of The Saviour, knowing well that doubt is a constant stalker determined to remind the faithful person that they are irrational in their determination to develop a friendship with the invisible presence of The Father.
Pain insists upon being attended to.
God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our consciences, but shouts in our pains.
It is his megaphone to rouse a deaf world.
~ C. S. Lewis
A moment will arrive in the life of every human person when a particular coincidence, or incident obliges us to question whether the out of the ordinary matter being experienced was mere chance. Most of us will simply let the matter go. Then a pattern begins to emerge, and we recognise that we are receiving guidance pointing us in a particular direction. Our cooperation begins one step at a time, engaging us to keep trusting in the flow of wise advice entering our conscious understanding.
Take God for your spouse and friend and walk with him continually, and you will not sin and will learn to love, and the things you must do will work out prosperously for you.~ Saint John of the Cross
The journey walking with Our Saviour encourages us to discipline every aspect of our life, thereby ensuring that we grow out of our old ways, into a life revealing the presence of Our Father's Spirit leading us.... Kindly Light.
“Behold, blessed is the one whom God reproves;
therefore despise not the discipline of the Almighty. ~ Job 5:17
