I quote
The LORD keeps faith forever,
secures justice for the oppressed,
gives food to the hungry.
The LORD sets captives free.

Today's reflections addresses human needs.
It's very easy for us to find fault with those who are wealthy, and well able to assist many people living at subsistence level.
The real issue being discussed here is that of our own response to the needs of others.
Responding to human need is not always a matter of money provided for those visibly in need of our practical support.
“You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you.” ~ John Bunyan
Often overlooked are those spontaneous responses to the needs of the infirm person needing a helping hand, or our willingness to intervene when a child attempting to cross a busy road, is seeking the assistance of an adult to guide them safely. It is in those moments that we suddenly realise that an invisible influence is guiding us.
When helping people in visible need of our assistance, we reveal the outreach of Our Father guiding us to love our neighbour with practical help.
“Love is not patronizing and charity isn't about pity, it is about love.
Charity and love are the same -- with charity you give love, so don't just give money but reach out your hand instead.” ~ Mother Teresa
