I quote:
Whoever loves me will keep my word, says the Lord;
and my father will love him and we will come to him
end quote
Few moral judgements are more intuitively obvious, and more widely shared than that promises ought to be kept,
evidencing the honorable intention of the person giving their word to reciprocate in kind.
Always prefer the plain direct word to the long, vague one. Don't implement promises, but keep them. ~ C. S. Lewis
Loving God can never be revealed through lip service.
Today's reflections provide us with the awareness that our words are meaningless until we accomplish all that Our Father asks of us.
How will we know what God requires of us?
The Father's request will invite us to sacrifice that which we can share with another, or others thereby assisting them in their time of need.
That request will be clearly sown into our conscious understandings, leaving us with no doubt what is expected from us.
“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?
When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?
When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ ”
~ Matthew 25:37-40
