I Know Where I'm Going (1945) is another delightful Powell, and Pressburger film filled with an uplifting romantic story, mature script, and acting that focuses ones attention on every joyous moment. This artistic presentation teaches its viewers that even the most determined of people can be persuaded to change their plans, when love enters the picture to turn our world upside down. I recommend viewing this picture for it is 91 minutes of bliss guaranteed to elevate the feel good mood of its audience at a time when the human race feels inadequate facing another pandemic.
Isaiah 55:8-9:
For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, says the LORD.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Our Father has His way of persuading us to abandon our plans seeking fame, and fortune by distracting us from our self serving path onto a road that is filled with wonder, delights, and satisfaction that only a loving relationship can engender for those who discover that there is more to living than embracing a high position, and a fat bank account guaranteed to provide more trouble than money can support.
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” ~ Proverbs 3:5-6,
