For no age is too early or too late for the health of the soul. ~ Epicurus
In ancient Greece it was believed that the gods (on Mount Olympus) determined the fate of every human being, there being no way that a mortal could avoid their destiny. Man believed that they were at the beck, and call of forces beyond their understanding leading them to live a fatalistic life born out of their easy willingness to surrender to their fear that they had no control over their destiny.
There are those among us who would characterise such fatalistic thinking contrary to the will of the divine mystery, inviting each of us to let Him lead us through life; notwithstanding that we can say, no to that invitation letting the dice fall per our pleasure.
Cooperating with The Father ensures that each of us participates in the creation of the journey of our life time.
“The willing, Destiny guides them. The unwilling, Destiny drags them.”― Seneca
The wise men of ancient Rome understood that behind our life's story an invisible hand is at work, inviting each of us to grasp its plan to reward us with a life worth living to die for.
Hard times will often drive us to reach out, and grip that hand knowing that our well being, even our life may well depend upon our free choice to follow its advice gushing into our life as if to say, I will lead you out of your self destructive choices, into your destiny filled with all that I will grant you when you follow my guidance in all matters.
My sheep hear my voice. I know them, and they follow me.
I give them eternal life, and they will never perish.
No one will snatch them out of my hand.
~ John 10:27–28
