for there will be nothing to fear ~ Micah 4:3-4
Advancing age should provide us with the awareness that our years of growing experience will supply sufficient understanding when faced with the trials that old age reveals for our further instruction.
Learning from the behaviour of others is best done in silence, providing space for our fellow traveller to vent their frustrations on the failings of their family, friends, football team, and of course the political discourse must needs be feature prominently.
Being an attentive listener is a valuable tool, for it supplies the enthusiastic pupil with the awareness that much can be learnt from others determined to spill their venom. Absorbing the rants, and rages of our companions is also therapeutic for those determined to let off steam.
Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace
~ Ephesians 4:2-3
Spending time alone in the midst of our thoughts is a constructive practice best done daily at the same time in silence, enabling The Father's trusting child to speak openly of our fears, frustrations, and dreams of better days ahead. In those moments of introspection a dialogue develops providing the faithful child with the wisdom that flows from the heart of our constant friend, The Saviour even now inviting us to share our problems with Him.

and to guide us to the path of peace ~ Luke 1:78-79
