I guess if, like Folau, you assert that fellow workers are destined for hell because of their sexuality, you might have a problem.
But, in broad terms, nobody should be 'hounded' for their considered views and their beliefs.
This is not about that though. Folau signed an agreement then broke it.
If, at any stage, he regarded that contract as threatening his right to free speech the first thing, especially after a warning, is attempt to renegotiate the contract or, if that was not possible, inform his employer that he could no longer be a part of that organisation.
That would be a principle stand.
Folau's approach is to grandstand and ask other's to pay for the consequences.
