Never assume anything when presuming that ones prejudice on any given matter is worth more than the words that we speak, or write with a willingness to judge another with malice aforethought.
Often it is wise not to offer an opinion when the chorus is obsessed with imposing its understandings on all who patiently listen.
Patiently listening provides the listener with sufficient reason not to respond, for in listening the observer learns that the propagandist is more concerned with reinforcing their beliefs when seeking the approval of their audiences.
"...be swift to hear, but slow to answer...Honour and dishonour through talking! A man's tongue can be his downfall. Be not called a detractor; use not your tongue for calumny..." - Sirach 5:11-17
The opinionated person spends their life believing that their understandings represent truth, whereas they fail to appreciate that their opinions are nothing more than their prejudices masquerading as truth.
James 1:19 “Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger.”
The wise are well aware that time, and experience are the means by which the traveller learns all that enables them to grow in wisdom, sufficient to open their minds to that which is the gift of God for all who listen with a wish to learn all that will add value to their life.
When Our Father speaks to us in the silence of our heart there is the awareness that we are being instructed to remain patient while He imbues us with all that we will need to carry out His plan in our life.
23 Wait and be patient, and later you will be glad you did. 24 Keep quiet until the right time to speak, and you will gain a reputation for good sense.~ Sirach 1
