When we turn our attention to assisting others a fountain of happiness begins to pour a stream of life affirming joy into our awareness that our happiness cannot be pursued, it must ensue.
A purpose filled life diverts our attention from our perceptions of inner emptiness, towards filling the lives of those who as if by chance enter our orbit.
For very many people an existential vacuum, or feeling of meaninglessness is a common phenomenon characterised by the subjective state of boredom, apathy, and emptiness triggered by indifference to the practical needs of people in plain sight needing more than soothing words to alleviate their suffering.
The eternal search for meaning making life worth living to die for drives the explorer of life's adventures to reach out to their fellow traveller with a helping hand without any thought of reward. Divine Providence reciprocates with the same response when we in our moments of deepest distress receive Our Father's appreciation when ensuring that we are furnished with a remedy lifting us out of our depressing pit of meaningless existence.
Divine Providence invites us to be His outreach into the lives of those He sends to us, to lighten their burdens that they may in their turn, return the favour when faced with circumstances that jog their memory that a selfless act of kindness had restored their faith, enabling them to celebrate all that life has in store for those who reach out to assist the victims of life's difficult moments.
The meaning of life is discoverable in every moment of living, for life never ceases to have meaning, even in our moments of disappointment when we identify a greater need in another traveller, who just by chance enters our life in search of practical help.
“You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you.” ― John Bunyan
