There is no subject upon which I have less to say than liturgiology, for my offerings here are provided for the benefit of the individual human person.
Prayer is dialogue with Our Father. It's a conversation, not a monologue. Conversing with God does not require anything more than a quiet atmosphere devoid of extraneous noise with a desire to hear, and listen to the words spoken from within.
Jeremiah 29
12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
Just imagine The Father sitting on the couch next to us listening to our every word, then to hear Him reply with advice that begins to transform our understanding of the troubles under discussion. It is then that we begin to appreciate that our focus has begun to shift from our perception, to His clarification enabling us to create a solution that resolves our dilemma.
“Enlightenment is understanding that there is nowhere to go, nothing to do, and nobody you have to be except exactly who you're being right now.” ~ Neale Donald Walsch
In other words the only pilgrimage we need to make is the one that offers us silence, and the opportunity to chat with God knowing that we are alone in His presence.
What we resist changing, always persists, until we adjust our response to that which persists in reminding us, that within us resides our greatest friend inviting us to follow His advice on all matters.
Neither shall they say: Behold here, or behold there. For lo, the kingdom of God is within you.~Luke 17:21

Holy Scripture references Jesus excusing himself to find time alone to talk with The Father, that in silence He might more confidently exchange thoughts.
But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.~Luke 5:16
Conversation with the divine mystery is often an invitation to serve the will of Our Father, in a manner that obliges us to deny the ever present influence of our ego demanding that we place our own wants, before the needs of those whom Our Father asks us to assist.
Be prepared to be surprised for God will always help us through our struggles, beseeching us to become His outreach in the lives of those whom He desires to assist through The Covenant between God, and we who freely choose to commit ourselves to His tender loving care.
"For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise." ~Galatians 3:26-29
