Some years ago a palliative care nurse shared her memories in a daily newspaper recalling her years caring for the terminally ill especially noting the words of her patients in their final days. Regret at not having attempted to implement their dreams was a common theme weaving its way through stories of what might had been had the frustrated dreamer followed their heart's desires.
Fitting together the jig saw pieces of our life's journey takes patience, and time permitting the adventurer to fathom the lessons that experience teaches us to better understand our trek through life, there being a growing awareness that experience is a bitter teacher, calculating wisely that each of us will grow in wisdom when resisting the attempts of our daily trials to destroy our determination to weather the storms of our passage through life.
Psalm 17:6 “My steps have held fast to your paths; my feet have not slipped.”
Enacting our dreams into reality takes more than confidence, it is an awareness that there is an inspiring influence at work in our life, encouraging us that we can overcome our doubts, and assemble the plan that Providence is furnishing us to reveal its outreach to the human race.
It is said that the works of Divine Providence are better appreciated when our jig saw puzzle is near completion, and the dream that has become our life appears to present us with the prospect of more adventures by maintaining trust in the architect providing for our every need.
Rebirth into new life is the beginning of our journey in the care of The One who merely asks us to trust Him every step of our way through life.
“Providence is wiser than you, and you may be confident it has suited all things better to your eternal good than you could do had you been left to your own option.” ~John Flavel, The Mystery of Providence
