When life goes well it is said that our happiness is the result of celebrating the joys of the moment. Those periods of light are welcomed with open arms there being an awareness that our years of plenty will not last.
The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.~John 1:5
Appearances are often deceptive for it is during our seasons of distress that real growth takes place enabling the faithful child of God to cultivate their relationship with the divine mystery when surrendering into His loving care.
Rather like the Prophet Job during his years of impoverishment there is a growing understanding that despite our perceived failure our patience, and trust in our most faithful of friends leads us to endure our hardships with the result that our trials generate new life in the care of Our Father.
Misfortune can be the seeding ground for the birth of new life, new hopes born our of our tribulations when all appears lost, and our self respect crushed under foot by life's adversities.
God prunes us to be fruitful.
Job never wavered in his integrity. He held firmly to his relationship with God, relying on Him instead of being submerged into the anxieties that fear of the unknown inflicts on all who flee in terror from life's challenges.
Never waver under pressure; stand firm, and wait on God's guidance to rescue us.
"And the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning," ~Job 42:12.
Our common enemy the self possessed ego did not have the last say in Job's life. God did. Job reaped a lifetime of blessing from a season of suffering.
The people who walk in darkness Will see a great light; Those who live in a dark land, The light will shine on them.~Isaiah 9:2
