The dedicated sceptic spends their time searching for evidence that will satisfy their thirst to discover the truth on any given matter that excites their interest. None more so that those of who realise that our life's journey of exploration is never limited by the senses informing us that which we cannot see, hear, or understand...cannot be.
A seasoned detective will readily acknowledge that the evidence leading them to the culprit is rarely the result of following a straight line to the door of the criminal, there being an awareness that the mysteries of life are often concealed from the eyes of the investigator, driven by their belief that their experience combined with the forensic evidence will eventually expose the offender.
Through the experience of entering into relationship with other human beings we can gradually learn more about our fellow travellers, than in any thought that a scientific analysis of our parents, siblings, spouse, friends, acquaintances, or work colleagues could every provide to better know them.
The promise of “ask and receive,” even with its conditions, can never disappoint. There is no chance of things we need not being in God’s will. He promises to supply what we need when we “seek first his kingdom and his righteousness” (Matthew 6:33). What we want is not always what we need. God knows what is good for us when asking us to serve our neighbour according to His plan for our life...He providing all we need to enact that plan.
Jesus' promise of “ask and receive,” is always delivered to those who reciprocate in kind. Our Father promises to supply what we need when we “seek first his kingdom and his righteousness” (Matthew 6:33). What we want is not always in our best interest, or what we need to build a happy, and fulfilling life.
Our Father simply invites us to follow Him, and do as I ask.
When the answer is simple, God is speaking. ~Albert Einstein
