The shadow of a human person follows us whenever the sun illuminates our journey through life, and exposes all that once remain concealed.
We know that GOD IS LIGHT and no shadow of darkness can exist in that which is the source of our very being, and the lamp that will shepherd us through our life's journey.
Facing the truth more often, or not demands that each of us sheds light on our behaviour, enabling us to make changes that reflect our understanding that we can live a happier, and more fulfilling life when we change our direction.
1 John 1 (NIV)
Light and Darkness, Sin and Forgiveness
5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 6 If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
Metaphor is used extensively throughout Holy Scripture to enable the reader to understand that out of the void of darkness, the first command of God was “Let there be light” (Genesis 1:3), and light appeared and was given a name (day).
Light, and shadow...day, and night...demonstrate to us that we can lose our sense of direction when darkness settles into our life, leading us into in a wilderness of fear, and foreboding the result of having lost our way.
Isaiah 42:16
"I will lead the blind by a way they do not know, In paths they do not know I will guide them. I will make darkness into light before them And rugged places into plains. These are the things I will do, And I will not leave them undone."
