It’s the piece George Haydock picked up from your previous post, namely: if Francis could find just one intelligent and charismatic leader whom the people could again look up to for inspiration and with respect, the institution in this country could possibly be turned around in a very short order of time.
I agree – I think it could. However, obviously, your view of a suitable leader would differ greatly from mine.
But really, what is there to be turned around? Surely your lot are already in the ascendency. For instance, many more PPs subscribe to The Swag than to The Priest. Where is the “big challenge” Haydock claims you wrote of, but which I couldn’t find in your piece? Wherever it came from, what is the challenge? How much more of the Church would your lot like to see wrecked? Can’t you take yes for an answer?
