Thankyou Father and thankyou Jules. I use that act of contrition, unless the church I am at has a different one (something like 'O God, I am sorry for my sins because I love You. By your grace, let me sin no more'). Is there any established form for the act of contrition or is there room for a little liturgical innovation? I have seen quite a number of different ones.

: Good Question Kyle, I've never seen that
: version .The one below is the traditional
: one seen in most prayer books. Admin it
: maybe wise to replace the prayer on the
: board with the one below.
:
:
: An Act of Contrition
:
: O my God,
: I am heartily sorry for having offended
: Thee,
: and I detest all my sins
: because I dread the loss of heaven
: and the pains of hell,
: but most of all because they offend
: Thee, my God,
: Who are all good and deserving of all my
: love.
:
: I firmly resolve with the help of Thy
: grace
: to confess my sins, to do penance,
: and to amend my life.
: Amen.
