It seems that there has been a "poor" management practice that started from the beginnings when Christianity saw the first light.
There may have been "independent" communities scattered everywhere, and because communication was not easy things developed slightly differently.
For reasons I cannot ascertain why and/or how, there was this perceived need to manage everything as if it had to be solidly unified and structured. As it has been proven, there have always been tendencies to disagree (dissent?) with some practices and theories about religious life.
People have the impression as if dissent only happened at the end of the first millennium and in the 16th century, but really there have been dissidents and dissenters right from the beginnings of Christianity.
Long live diversity!
(Is that a kosher cry for the freedom of the children of God or what?)
