This article has sources and facts behind it. There are many registries for the APBT INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE BELOW,
American Dog Breeders Association, United Kennel Club, Sporting Dog Registry, All American Dog Registry, Canadian Kennel Club. And, there are many more which I have not dealt with and will not name for that reason.
So, the Rottie which only has 2 kennel clubs that I know of the AKC and CKC is unlikely to have more dogs registered in the United States.
Also, the term "pitbull" when used in bite statistics is not only referring to the American Pit Bull Terrier which is registered with all of the above entities. It also refers to many other breeds making it even more obvious why the bite stats are inflamed against the "pitbull."
The breeds included under that heading are not limited to the following;
American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Bull Terrier, Miniature Bull Terrier.
Many times Mastiffs, American Bulldogs and other "bully" breeds are also called "pitbulls" when bite reports are given.
go to http://www.pitbullsontheweb.com/petbull/findpit.html and look at many breeds which are commonly mistaken for pitbulls, thus adding to the inflammation of statistics against the "breed."
I am sorry that you do not agree with the article, but it is factual.
