Voraer simpered slightly, dropping his muzzle thoughtfully to his chest as his pale eyes stared rather benevolently at the soft soil underfoot. His red mane shifted with his head, his curled forelock shifting to just hang across his eyes, though hardly long enough to shield them. Voraer

How can you not be like this? She asks so simply. But he was simple, wasn't he? So was his answer to her, his answers were always simple. "Easy." He breathed the word to himself, she probably wouldn't even hear, even if she'd actually been expecting a reply. But then she was an air horse, maybe the wind would feed her his voice. "It's easy to hate, it has always been easy." It was harder to be happy. Lycoris was rare.
Everything has a good side, yes. And for every good side there is bad. No shadows without light, no smiles without tears. Balanced, the world was always balanced. He lifted his head again, nose parallel with the ground as he stared behind his haze of copper bars. His simper twisted all the more upward. "I'm glad for you then Lycoris. Everyone should have what makes them happy." She surprised him then, though really he should know by now, when she leaped forward. She was so innocent, so simple and naive and carefree wasn't she? She forgot her anger so quickly, her fear. Blissfully oblivious to the crueler things in this world. He hoped it would never change. Her question left him silent for a while though, and when he did reply he glanced into the distance, slipping away from himself as he spoke.
"Family makes me happy, honor and pride and victory. When you can be proud of what you've achieved, what you've managed to bring together - that's happiness to me." He blinked as the sun shifted and shone brightly on him. He ducked his head, exhaling heavily before flicking his stone eyes back to her. "Take care of yourself Lycoris." He turned away from her, red tail washing along his haunches as he moved to head back to the desert.
[hmm I figured here was a good place to end it, especially now that she gave birth. At least he didnt burn her :P]
