"Yes, I would."
"You would give up your throne for him? He who has caused you such misery, such humiliation?"
"Yes, I would."
“You are wrong! I’m not smug or proud or crazy or any of those horrible things you just said!” She was shaking visibly. Skylar, for the first time in her life, was angry. The emotion swept over her so suddenly that she was at first taken aback, left with a rather dumbfounded expression on her face. But soon, it was so powerful and strange that she felt her air burst in gusts, and the earth around Voraer trembled, a small split in the ground forming around him. She felt it then, Onipa'a, her newfound ability, trembling nearby rocks into shape. They were gigantic rocks, and soon they were in the form of a sentient being, and it stumbled clumsily to Skylar, shaking the ground with each oafish step. Anthropomorphic rocks, scary huh? The creature didn’t move to Voraer, simply sat beside Skylar, fiddling with smaller pebbles on the ground. It was like a comfort to Skylar, just having it there, like a person who owns a completely harmless pit bull. Harmless, but intimidating enough to make people think twice before breaking and entering.
She stepped forwards, more brave than before, her body still fuming with anger. “How dare you judge me before you even know me! And not because of the way I came to you, but because of where I come from!” She laughs shakily. “Did I judge you? Did I storm up to you and accuse you of being arrogant or crazy? No! I came to you kindly.”
As much as it was bad to bring him up, she wasn’t really thinking straight. “My family always taught me to judge a person based on their character, and don’t be quick to pass it. That we should question ourselves before we pass judgment on someone who looks different, behaves different, talks different, is of a different nation.”
” She tosses her mane. “Didn’t anyone ever teach you that?”
Why she is even bothering now and not just walking away is beyond me, but to her it makes perfect sense. Somewhere in her blood was fire, the heated, stubborn fire that was in the blood of her father. She wouldn’t give up on him. Skylar liked to be friends with everyone.
But what she didn't realize is that she was rather.....well....alone.
