Alcatraz allowed a bland smile to cross his hideous features as the mare spoke. Never a truer word, he thought – that inward smile spreading maliciously across his cold soul like a tumor. Let them make noise - - it makes it easier for them to tell when they’ve stopped breathing. Alcatraz liked that line. He repeated it several times over in his mind, committing the words to memory.

Alcatraz did not flinch when she stepped closer. His element seethed at the proximity but his fire purred darkly. The shard nestled deep within his broad chest flared with wrath as it recognized the other shard - - it longed to be connected. Alcatraz ignored the strange desire, focusing instead on his own at hand.

“I’m interested.”

A flicker of flame rose from his hooves, swarming around his legs. No one interested in setting it to flames, you say?

The fire roared, air hissing as it swarmed around the pale grey ghost. Let the games begin, he thinks darkly.
