Lycoris was undoubtedly the worst of them all, of that he was sure. Everyone there seemed to generally like him, to enjoy his destructive, obnoxious, vulgar presence. It had only infuriated him all the more, and he was now sold on the belief that the wolves practiced some sort of witch craft and that their niceness was all some evil, vile ploy to trap him and brainwash him. He wasn’t paranoid at all.
She was angry. It amused him, somewhere it amused him beneath his own flaring anger at her and her anger. She had no right to be mad at him! She was the crazy one who was stalking him and licking him and pestering him. All he wanted to do was go home and pretend Andarin was a horrible dream. He had things to attend to in the Desert, tasks to accomplish so he could crawl out of his self-pity and be an egotistical dic k once more. Was that appealing in some way to her and the rest of Andarin? Apparently. Psychos.
Voraer was capable of love. He had loved once before, a true, honest love. And he loved his family fervently. Where a mare may insignificant to him aside from her beauty and lust appeal, the spawn they created was inherently precious to him. As strongly as he could love, he could hate. Voraer wore his emotions in plain sight, and they shifted easily from one extreme to another. It was rare to find him in a nonchalant mood or a dead state, and usually he didn’t remain in that mode for long. But even so, as much as the aloof, strange, quiet and dead types were given wide berth, so Voraer was given a large radius for his erratic mood swings. It was difficult for him to be loved, and even harder for him to truly fall in love. He was attracted to his opposites, needing, knowing the cool touch of the calm and collected was all that would keep them together and sane.
Would Lycoris understand this? What did she see in him? Maybe she was a masochist and liked being called outrageous and insulting names. Maybe she somehow mistook his loud vocals and dramatic flare for something akin to flamboyant friendship.
Voraer sighed heavily, glancing away from her to collect his thoughts. He was at least trying not to crush her completely into the ground, she wasn’t mean to him, just annoying, she couldn’t help that any more than he could. ”You shouldn’t.” He remarked on her attention to his feelings. He glanced back to her, his head twisting upon his nape. He looked, sad in a way. ”I will not, I see no need to apologize.” He frowned, she confused him. Why all this effort? ”Lycoris our worlds are vastly different in more than just where we live. I was a brief flare in the mountains, but my stay was only ever temporary. I don’t ever desire to return, and I have no plan to hold any of the loose ties I managed to create there.” You Lycoris, are a loose tie for him. If he’d never seen you again he wouldn’t have thought much about it. ”You should go home.”
