one part brave--three parts fool.
Alanna’s voice breaks his concentration and the snow falls in a giant heap. He squeals indignantly and bounds out of the way before it would have landed on him. He snorts his triumph over the cold wet stuff, and then kicks up his heels with added enthusiasm. That would teach the cold stuff to bother him! His eyes peer up at her imploringly, knowing that he is in trouble. But she never could resist him. He is adorable after all. Not that he’d admit it.
He totters over to his sister again, and reaches up as high as he can to brush the middle of her shoulder gently. Burnish copper eyes twinkling. What are we ever going to do with him? Then he turns back to look at Era. His voice cold, boarding on indignant. He takes a few steps closer until he is only inches away from her face.
“I am NOT a midget. I cannot help the fact you are overly big and fat. I am PERFECT.”
He bounds back to his sister’s side as if to emphasize his point. There he stood a little in front of her as always. He was her protector, her guardian in baby fluff. When the introduction comes he clears his throat, and the sweetest voice imaginable escapes his parted lips.
“Hello Era. In case you haven’t noticed, I don’t like you.”
He turned his butt to her to face Alanna when she gave him the news of a lifetime. KRATOS IS HAVING A BABY! His brain picked up double time. Wait a minute…boys don’t have babies…then Alanna corrected herself and he couldn’t help but snicker as an image of a bloated Kratos entered his mind. He would have to share this with Baraqel later.
”Why do YOU always find out all the good stuff before me?!”
He wanted to whine but managed to forgo that minor detail. So he stood there miffed and indignant. He wanted to deliver funny news…maybe he would get to tell mommy and daddy first! He almost sprinted off to deliver the news, but stayed. His small legs twitching with anticipation.
