Talking to Lycoris was like talking to a puppy. They're not going to pay attention and they sure as hell are not going to stay still. All they could do was look cute and cause mayhem until they either grew out of their indulgent chaos or you no longer cared for what they did. Era was quickly deciding the latter would be the best course of action. If she did otherwise she knew her thin wall of sanity would finally crumble.
Era wasn't sure why the woman-child was so damn giddy. Her optimism seemed so unhealthy. She was positive that if it weren't for her upbringing that she would have been infected with that fatal infliction called happiness. Lycoris, in Era's view, also seemed rather foolish. The kind of foolish that made Era hungry for her undivided dependency. Stupidity was the greatest source of all witless followers. Not raw power, as most believed. Era knew this, and she also knew Lycoris and her jumpy little mind had to be hers eventually.
“Friends.”
The concept of such a thing had always alluded her. She had grown up knowing no one else but her mother and thus her social skills were shot. She was the kid in the playground forced to play by themselves because they didn't know how to play well with others. But she at least knew how to be charming, especially when it comes to the things she wants. “Sure, friends,” she murmurs in monotone and ponders the consequences.
Lycoris was a little overwhelming with her bountiful energy but Era was slowly adjusting to it. Part of said adjustments was merely tuning out most of the things she was saying.
Before Era could attempt to pry further into the mare's jumbled mind another fool came out to play. This one was male, far less exuberant, and just as stupid. She rolled her eyes at his statement. What was it with these people and their national pride? She just didn't get it. “Fish? Fish are cold, stupid, and smell.”The sea was beautiful but it teemed with non-intelligent life. Lithium was a glaring example of that.
“Wolves, however, are cunning,” she said smoothly, and moved towards him with playful malicious intent. “They sense weakness and dutifully rid of the world of it.”
