Betrayal comes closer and Ophelia does not resist. She cannot, but mostly she does not want to - that is the simple eloquence of the matter. Ophelia could thrash and she could run, her wind carrying her swiftly out of harms way, her fire nipping at the stallion's heels - but she does not because she does not want to leave. Ophelia is one of blessed few who can simply exist, desires simply to be and nothing more. She cannot grasp the intricacies of this world, and she simply does not care - the shards are evil, she had been told, but she does not care.
Everything, even her rapidly approaching status as a slave to the Lightning shard, is a minor speck on the vastly encompassing radar of her conscious, and Ophelia simply cannot muster the will to care and so she dances closer to Betrayal, the last of the fever leaving her body thin and the coat lackluster but an almost-knowing sparkle in her eyes give her life. Fire tumbles about her feet, spinning in its existing along with her wind, and Ophelia gasps as she feels pain along her shoulder. But it is not entirely unpleasant - it is an interesting pain, and she gazes at Betrayal curiously as he bends his neck to an almost cannibal will.
She is ever curious as she feels a spark or two jump from her shoulder and she knows that it is not her fire, but some alien element that is making itself known to her now. She looks at Betrayal, and there was the ever-present warmth in her eyes that is not special to him, but to all things in this world - and her black eyes seek his out and she nods, once, simply, at his statement. "I can learn anything you wish me to learn," she responds, her voice breathy in its surprise but, as always, its vagueness, its placidity and detachment. She feels herself drawn towards him, this stallion she barely knew - and yet, she did.
Ophelia thought, in that moment, that she might already know him very well. "What do you wish to know of Andarin?" the stars are vastly over-romanticizedACACIA X THE INFINITY
