For dreams and things that never are.
Courage doesn’t really know why he hates her, just that he hates her. Her water element rushes to protect her fire, shielding it from his water. For a moment the two water elements interact, but his much darker shadow is blinded by her light. There is good in him; he has a heart. Courage knows this, since he is capable of love and being a family man. She dares to come closer to him, moving where she is facing him, and looking him in the eye as best she can. She has grown, Fantome. She is not the little lost filly. She is now an angel, glowing in her brilliant incandescence like a shining beacon of light. They are polar opposites, this pair. But they are alike in physical stature. Courage’s swollen belly circulates with a mixture of air, fire and water. It radiates against her skin just how maternal her glow is becoming. But the tears, like the glow, cannot be ignored as they stream down her face in a small inundation. It is silently that she cries, with her chin held high trying to let him see that he will not break her. But inside her heart breaks. And it pains her to the depths of her soul. Oh, how she aches!
”I have done everything you've asked me to do and still you deny me the only thing I ever wanted,” she said, her voice pleading. Oh, Fantome, can you not see how much your daughter wants you, no, needs you? ”Was there ever a time, even in its smallest measurement, that you loved me at all?” Her eyes rest so diligently upon him, her emotions rushing through her like the waves of the ocean seeking land to smash against. It is an endless search, and the tears build even more in her eyes as she glows so beautifully against the darkness. Try as you might to extinguish her flickering flames, but her water element has sealed it off from yours, Fantome. You will see the light on this night whether you like it or not. You will see the angel whose wings you are trying so desperately to rip off. Look at her, Fantome. ”Do you absolutely despise me?” Her eyes are questioning as they fill with tears. ”Why?” This was where they had first met, when she was just a child and he was so much more than a shadowy figure wrapped in the mysterious mists of the night. Those oceanic eyes rest on his as she tries to relax her body, tries to stay calm, tries to somehow get her father back. Answer her, Fantome. Hurt her if you want, but she will forgive you, for you know not what you do. Those eyes stare into his, loving, gentle, hurt – a mixture of emotions registering in their oceanic depths.
