She stepped back—only for a moment—her cyan pools shutting immediately in pain as Nicodemus dared to inch closer to her. This caused her to flatten her ears momentarily, as if she sensed he was toying with her, and shy her head towards her own breast so that his heat was directed more towards her crown. He'd asked her why she'd chosen the ocean, which almost made her laugh. ”Well, Nicodemus, in instances such as this,” she said, pausing as she gestured to the flames that flicked off of every part of him, ”It’s really quite hard to resist; care to see what it's like?” She flicked her tail in his direction, sending a few droplets of icy, salty water his way.
No; she wasn’t so easily fooled, you sly man, for she was generally the one making the fool of someone else (a horrible quality, she’ll admit). She, too, was dangerously alluring with her long ebony tresses that clung to her neck and breast like feathers to honey, topped with pale blue eyes that could be spotted on the darkest of nights. A delicious sight, none-the-less.
The brindle girl was one of those women—the kind that everyone envies yet secretly hates. She’s a user, everyone knows, but they keep running back for more. Maybe Nicodemus would prove to be the same? And maybe, just for him, she would prove to make herself genuine. Just for him.
Her cat-like stripes proved to have added to her sly disposition, making a rather feline impression on the lanky girl, for even now as she walked away from Nicodemus, each step she took was carefully thought out and placed intricately so as not to make any sound--as if she were sneaking up on him. She was swift footed and swift at the tongue, and if she had claws to go along with her stripes, she would use them.
But never, never on Nicodemus.
”Why do you envelop yourself in those flames you possess? Dare I say that’s the wall you’ve put up to keep others out?” She hesitated. Her eyes met his and, in the most ironic of ways, pleaded to cool the flames that danced within them. She continued to inch closer to him—her skin suddenly reflecting the flames that danced around him as she stood soaking within her element. She stood as close to him as she could bear, knowing that they were weak to each other. He’d lured her in, and there was no letting her go.
”Tell me about yourself, Nicodemus.”
