spirits that walk for a thousand years;
here them calling on that darkest morning;
pulling me under, my thoughts dissapear;
Saphira comes closer to Hypatia, feels as her shard quiets and the relic dulls. She smiles, her lightning snaking out to the dominant water of Hypatia’s mind. But Saphira draws it back before it has a chance to strike.
“You cannot protect your people, anymore than you can protect me. I will not knowingly harm your people, but I cannot promise you anything. I wont make a promise I know I cannot force myself to keep.”
And that was the saddest truth of all. Saphira knew what she had done to herself, what having the shard meant for her. She looks away, her mind going to Alshain. Her falcon, her love. Her eyes lifts skyward, to the falcon overhead. She knows it isn’t Pirate, and it makes her sad. She lowers her gaze back to Hypatia, and she smiles sadly.
“We have more in common than we know it would see Hypatia. We are both trying to protect those we love...”
Without giving a damn about losing ourselves along the way. It is a sad but undeniable truth.

the siren
you can hold the darkness from you;
if the will is very strong;
but that whisper always haunts you;
cannot change the Siren's Song.
