It’s all about timing, really, as Oceantree comes around the corner Choke finishes licking the last of Corrigan’s blood and hair from his lips, enjoying the metallic tang it leaves on his tongue as he swallows the rest down. His blind eyes can’t see the earthly mare as she slowly makes her way towards him, but he knows she’s there. It is a familiar pull against his shoulder as she comes to lean against him, her water and his water mesh together so that now she can feel the frosty ice-like ripple of his and he can feel her warmth.
“I didn’t expect you to find me, but even if you tried to you wouldn’t have. I did not wish to be found.” He says richly with a gentle chuckle, nipping a piece of her mane that tickles the side of his neck. Her earth is curious, curious for the water that pours down the side of his neck and slides windingly down his leg like a snake.
“Mm, Oceantree, you tickle.” He says before she mentions what she does. A silence comes between them and Choke pulls away only for a moment as his gaze darkens. “I did what I had to do.” And that’s what he suspects, is the final answer.
He could be wrong though.
