His manner softens as her lips tilt and welcome him, banishing his anger to be saved for the ignorance of the child Wolf-King. They bask in the dying quiet of autumn, wordless as they inhale each other. The ghost steps back from her, gathering his confusion, and jealously of her freedom to be a loner.
“You are boundless.” he says simply, in a wistful cadence of husky roughness. For a moment he would longs to trade with her, to betray his loyalties and self-sacrifices. He recalls the darling face of Delilah who holds his future inside her womb, and is pained. “What is your name?” he asks breathlessly. The ghost shivers, and he is enthralled.
