It was growing stronger each time she met the playful mare. In this moment not even her earth could save her from that sting. Granted, in this state her earth did not even want to save her. And it wasn't just her water screaming. And even though it was the touch she longed for. The touch she could sigh from. So that maybe it would be ok. But she jerked her head away in a moment. She was undeserving of such affection. Her own brother. Her lover. The only one who had shown the true meaning of love - had abandoned her. He had thrown away their love in her moment of weakness. He had left her and when he came back he had proclaimed his love to another. So easily. So willingly. Her mind was gone. The bay mare's words did nothing to sooth her. They were so innocent. So tender. So loving. But the scar-painted mare had forgotten what all that meant and she stepped further back still. Her voice was a heartbreaking whisper. A mummer. "Fantome...He is the father..." It was a mistake. Maybe someday Delilah would understand that. Maybe someday she could forgive Oceantree. Delilah would not be the only one hurting. Fantome was not, after all, someone Oceantree loved. She loved Delilah - gone. She loved Cheveyo - gone. She loved her father in some distant way - gone. She loved Corrigan, more then anyone would know - gone. She had no one left. Because of one act. One act of insanity. One moment of weakness. And now her whole world was gone. She turned from Delilah. Her heart sinking with each step. Her head was low and the rain was still pouring in her eyes. She briefly glanced back at the mare, the tears falling from her electric blue eye before she turned away again and moved through the forest. She did not deserve to be near Delilah. She did not deserve to be near anyone.
